Alex joined EHS’s Denver office with more than 25 years of hospitality experience in both front- and back-of-the house operations. Specializing in fine dining and Italian food and wine, he has worked with top chefs and restaurateurs in Boston, New York, Colorado, and Italy.
Raised in Boston, Alex launched his culinary career baking muffins for musicians backstage at the Tanglewood Music Festival. From there, he found his mentor, lauded Cambridge chef and author Chris Schlesinger of the East Coast Grill. Alex then moved on to study under Jimmy Burke at the Tuscan Grill in Waltham, MA, where he first developed a passion for Italian cuisine.
This passion brought Alex to Italy, where he spent a year at the legendary il Cibreo in Florence, six months at Al Cambio in Bologna, and a summer at Felecin in Monforte d’Alba. Alex also spent a year at Babbo with chef Mario Batali.
Since moving to Denver, Alex has spent time in the front of the house at well-known Colorado institutions Sweet Basil, Larkspur, Vin 48, and the Barolo Grill. His executive chef experience spans two decades and includes stints at Alba, Fiori, Barcelona, Rare Italian, and the Greenbriar Inn. Alex also spent time as the General Manager of Rosenberg’s Bagels.
When he’s not cooking or recruiting, you’ll find Alex playing his guitar, gardening, yodeling, learning languages, and enjoying all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
Alex is excited to bring his range of culinary experiences and his consistent focus on coaching, mentorship, and career development to EHS, where he will use his unique skill set to connect people with jobs allowing them to thrive and grow.
