Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario Darren was always curious about food. At 17 years old Darren began his restaurant career in Algonquin College’s Culinary Management program. A surprising choice to his family as he couldn’t even make Kraft Dinner. He worked full time in kitchens during school to absorb as much information as possible. Once finished he made his way out west to Sun Peaks, B.C. where he quickly became a chef of a 70 seat Italian restaurant at the age of 21. At 23 he became the Chef of the Resort overseeing 12 departments all over the resort including an 8 million dollar food and beverage program in the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. If Darren wasn’t in the kitchen he was outside enjoying the terrain that all snowboarders live for. Fast forward 8 years; Darren moved to Kelowna B.C. where he was quickly recognized as one of the top 10 chefs in kelowna. Joining large companies such as Craft Beer Market and Cactus Club Cafe Darren turned to his passion for people development. Training those around him on his food philosophies and system that made his career so successful. Darren is a strong believer of having a positive mindset to achieving any goal you set out. “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t; You’re right!”
